What to expect?
Dierenartsenpraktijk Aan De Watergang is looking for an experienced and motivated veterinarian with a specialisation, or in the final stage of specialisation, in equine reproduction. As a specialist within our team, you play a crucial role throughout the entire reproduction process:
- Performing artificial insemination (AI):
- Monitoring the ovulation process and determining the correct insemination timing.
- Inseminating mares with fresh, chilled or frozen semen.
- Embryo transfer:
- Flushing embryos from the donor mare.
- Evaluating and preparing embryos for transfer.
- Transferring embryos to recipient mares.
- Aftercare and monitoring of the recipient mares.
- Diagnostics and treatment:
- Performing reproductive examinations.
- Diagnosis and treatment of fertility problems in stallions and mares.
- Guidance and advice:
- Advising horse owners and breeders.
- Providing information on the latest techniques and developments in reproductive medicine.
- Documentation and administration:
- Maintaining accurate patient records, insemination registrations and embryo transfer reports.
- Reporting examination results and treatment plans.
- Semen collection:
- Collecting semen from stallions and preparing it for shipment.
- Freezing semen.
Do you meet our expectations?
- You have completed a degree in Veterinary Medicine with a specialisation (or are in the final stage of specialisation) in reproductive medicine.
- You already have experience with artificial insemination and embryo transfer in horses.
- You have excellent diagnostic skills and knowledge of ultrasound.
- You have good communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of parties.
- You are flexible and willing to work extra hours outside regular working hours when necessary.
- You hold a category B driving licence.
